Parkside
Welcome to Parkside
Parkside provides an alternative learning environment for students, at Key Stage 3 and 4 who have emotional difficulties, and other health problems, which prevent them from accessing mainstream education.
The environment provided allows those students to continue with an education, following a broad and innovative curriculum, which takes into account their past experiences, is responsive to their emotional and educational needs and maximises their achievements. It is Parkside’s belief that an individual’s social and emotional development may be tackled through academic success.

Parkside endeavours to further the social and emotional development of students by offering a range of activities of a structured nature but addressed informally: relationships are greatly enhanced by such activities.

Hospital Provision
Welcome to the Hospital provision
The Hospital School is a satellite of Parkside Pupil Referral Unit. It is an Education Provision delivered in the paediatric area of Ipswich Hospital which provides an educational facility for school aged patients.
For these children, education is a central part of their routine. We work hard to create a sense of normality, which can be invaluable when helping the young people to cope with the trauma of illness. The schoolroom is a safe, friendly, vibrant and stimulating environment. We aim to inspire and engage the pupils whilst they are away from the wards. Those children unable to leave their bed space are taught bedside on ward or in their cubicles when appropriate.
As far as possible we make contact with the pupils on day one of admission and school aged patients are encouraged to access the Education Provision as soon as they are able. Our aim is to provide a broad, balanced and innovative curriculum for the education of all school aged patients.
We try to have a personalised and individual approach to learning, responsive to the pupils’ specific needs whilst in hospital. We liaise closely with pupils' schools to maintain a continuity of learning, and endeavour to minimise any disruption to the young person’s education.
We teach the child – not the illness. We take into account the medical situation of the child but do not let it define the individuals. We firmly believe that :
Every child is special,
Every child is unique
Every child has the right to education.

Lindbergh
Welcome to Lindbergh
This school is located in Lindbergh Road, Ipswich and provides education for young people between the ages of 11 and 16.
Most of our students have found mainstream schools a challenge and need extra support and help to re-integrate back into a mainstream school. Sometimes older students may remain with us to work towards a range of qualifications in Key Stage 4.

At the Lindbergh Centre we give young people a fresh start; another chance.
Our team of dedicated professionals will help students to learn, develop their social skills, gain in confidence and be able to take full advantage of their educational options. We will try to devise, with the student, a curriculum which is tailored to the individual needs – a “bespoke” curriculum.
We prepare students for life after school by developing skills that are relevant in the workplace as well as the classroom.

We consider it a privilege to be working with, and helping, young people (and their families) during a particularly challenging and difficult period in their life.
